Our 2025 AGM is scheduled for March 15, 2025, in person at the John Pritchard Memorial Sports Complex in Enderby, and via Zoom for the rest of the BC.. This is the last call for nominations, as nominations close at the end of this week. We are pleased to introduce your candidates!
Candidates for the Open Director positions for voting for the 2024 4WDABC AGM are as follows:
Cameron Colquhoun – Candidate for Vice President (2-year term)
I am Cameron Colquhoun and I’m running for my second term as Vice President.
I joined the Four-Wheel Drive Association in 2017. Shortly after that I started coming out to events, where I quickly saw how incredible of a community the 4WDABC members are. Over my time as a member, I have helped out at numerous newbie runs, cleanups and maintenance events around the province. Since becoming Vice President in 2023, I have spent a lot of time travelling around the province to try and connect with as many members as possible. I’ve worked alongside our director of regions to help the regional representatives in the lower mainland make sure they have what they need to succeed! In 2023 I attended the Train the Trainer event to become a Wheeling Wisely instructor, since then I’ve helped train at over 20 days of training. I was also part of the team that just finished building our new intermediate winching course.
I hope that you elect me again and that I will continue as vice president.
Brian Pratt – Candidate for Regions(2-year term)
I am Brian Pratt, running for the position of Regional Director on the board of the 4WDABC.
I have been a member of the Four Wheel Drive Association for eight years and in that time I have been an active volunteer, and on the Board of Directors since June of 2021. I am presently the interim Regional Director, Wheeling Wisely Trainer, TreadLightly! Master Tread Trainer, previously the Director at Large, Regional Officer for Sea-to-Sky/Fraser Valley, guiding and tail gunning Association sponsored runs, helping to maintain Association sponsored Rec Sites, scouting for new Rec Sites that the association can manage, and the TreadLightly! Coordinator.
In my role as the Director at Large, I concentrated on Stewardship and TreadLightly!, and assisting Jason Belanger, Regional Director, in communicating with government representatives and other land users in responsible off road land use, and in maintaining rec sites through our partnership agreements, expanding the number of rec site partnership agreements, working with other land use guardians and users to expand our maintenance responsibilities for more publicly accessible areas. Having taken the responsibility of Regional Director, I have continued to work with government representatives, First Nations and others in the outdoor recreation community in the pursuit of our goal of public access to public lands. I am looking forward to continuing my work as Regional Director and working with the Association’s Regional Representatives and growing our reach throughout British Columbia!
There are some exciting times coming for the 4WDABC, more wonderful rec sites to maintain, fire lookouts to rebuild and maintain, and I feel that I am well suited to help coordinate these activities.
As the Regional Director I hope to travel the province, from my home in Enderby, and meet a lot of you exploring this beautiful place we live!!
See you all on the trails!!
Thank-You!
Brian
Matt Ion – Candidates for Communication (2-year term)
Hey all! I think pretty much everyone knows me already – I’m Matt, I’ve been Communications Director for the past eight years, and I’m running to stick around for the next two.
I’m really bad at these things, and I can’t really think of anything new to add except for being the one behind our new RECON app, originally planned to catalogue gates around BC, and now grown to be a general off-road app where users can record and rate rec sites, trails, and other obstacles to backcountry travel like washouts and rockslides.
So, uh, vote for me! Yay!
Bethany Webber – Candidate for Membership (1-year term)
My name is Bethany, and I am running for the position of Membership Director.
Joining The Four Wheel Drive Association was a life-changer for me. I’ve always loved the outdoors and grew up traveling and camping all across BC and Canada. I am definitely happiest in the bush or with a fishing rod in my hand, and the Association has provided me with a place to channel my energy and passion—a place to meet like-minded people and participate in all the incredible work we do. It reset my soul on a deep level, and I am so thankful for that.
With a background in IT and Customer Success, I really enjoy speaking with people and showing value. If elected as Membership Director, my goal will be to ensure that you feel truly connected to the mission of 4WDABC—whether through advocacy or community. Our strength as an organization lies within our members and volunteers.
Since becoming Interim Membership Director in January 2025, Shauna and I have worked together to get outstanding renewal and membership packages into the mail after the end of the mail strike. Since then, I’ve been looking for ways to improve processes, strengthen corporate partnerships, and find more opportunities to engage with you all.
I love all the great work we are doing, and I’m committed to supporting our members and the continued success of 4WDABC.
If you see a jeep named Goose, come say hi – that’s me!
Sincerely,
Bethany Webber
Eric Charette – Candidate for Director-at-Large Position (2-year term)
Megan Classen – Candidate for Director-at-Large Position (2-year term)
Hello, fellow 4×4 enthusiasts. My name is Megan, and I’m excited about the opportunity to run for Director at Large with the 4wdabc. As an Indigenous person, I deeply value land stewardship, respecting and caring for the environment as my people have for generations. Growing up on Vancouver Island in the wilderness, I was raised fishing, exploring, and developing a profound connection with the land. That passion has carried through my life, shaping my commitment to responsible outdoor recreation. With experience working alongside volunteer organizations throughout the Fraser Valley, I believe in the power of community and the importance of giving back. Whether it’s trail maintenance, conservation efforts, or advocacy for responsible land use, I am dedicated to ensuring that our outdoor spaces remain accessible and sustainable for future generations. As a mother, I want to pass down my love for the wilderness to my children—teaching them the value of adventure, respect for nature, and the importance of community. I am excited for the opportunity to bring my experience, passion, and dedication to the Four Wheel Drive Association of British Columbia as a Director-at-Large.
Best regards,
Chic-ette Morrow – Candidate for Director-at-Large Position (2-year term)
Hi there! I’m Chic-ette. If you know me from my little corner in the West Kootenays, you might know me as Chic-ette and the Boss. I’ve been a member of the 4 WDABC since 2020. My first experience with this fantastic community was when I took my new Jeep through the Whipsaw with some members of the Association. I fell in love with this supportive, encouraging family, which is the association and the majority of the off-road community. I was so inspired that I modified my Jeep so I could keep playing with you all, and I also started to go to everything I could be a part of within my reach to be an active part of this community. It was noticed that I was travelling 6 hours plus to go to Coffee Meets, Show-n-Shines, Wheeling Wisely courses, Recovery Courses, Trail Maintenance and restoration parties. I was also hugely involved in organizing off-road adventures for my local community and encouraging other off-roaders. I was asked how I’d feel being a Regional Rep. My answer without hesitation was, “Yes! And I’m honoured you asked!” Since then, I’ve created Show-n-Shines and Coffee Meets and dragged our excited members to Car shows! We are the coolest ones in our little corner of the car show; I’m just saying. I was also asked to Admin another off-road group locally when I started getting noticed, so I admin two local groups and organized many off-roading adventures with the locals AND a couple of off-roading groups from across the border! Through my travels, I’ve made friends with both Oregon, Washington, and Idaho groups who now travel regularly to play with us, and some of their members have become some of our own! A couple of years ago, I was tagged to become an Off-road Trainer for the association! A few of our senior members reached out to me to encourage me to participate in the Train the Trainer event, which was one of the most exciting things I’ve ever done! So now I am also a trainer for the Association! On the hobby side of things, I also create off-road videos of the adventures of my friends and I because I like to share the fun with everyone! I have so many ideas for Director at Large! Some of those include creating Public Recognition to bolster our community and membership through video promotion (we don’t have a presence in the dynamic world of video and we do need to break into this realm to create that recognition). I also want to reach out to the Snowmobile clubs because I don’t know about your location, but locally, there seems to be an Us vs. Them mentality, and I would love to work with them to create bridges for our groups to work together. Another passion of mine is to encourage women off-roaders to… off-road! I can tell you as a lady wheeler, it’s not easy to break into the world of wheelers. It’s very intimidating. You don’t realize until you try just how supportive and amazing all the people in this community are, and I want to reach out to other women to encourage them to hit the trails and take away the intimidation. But also to teach them the skills they need to make them feel empowered in their vehicle! The biggest crippler for women wheelers is the fear of not knowing what to do and asking men for help. So many ladies out there don’t have the skills and confidence to break into the world of off-roading. I want to reach those women. I want to empower them. I want us to do that together so that we are the ones who give them that same sense of family and support that I did from this fantastic community. These are just the things I feel passionate about. I am also open to suggestions to cover realms the members feel need to be covered. I used to work with a newspaper, creating events and features to stimulate the community. Talking to strangers and creating exciting promotions and events are things I am good at and completely comfortable doing.
Rachelle Tomm – Candidate for Director-at-Large Position (2-year term)
I am Rachelle Tomm and I specialize in leadership. I have worked in leadership roles for 14 years
and I have taken courses, read books and been inspired by many of the same mentors you
know of or admire. Specifically, my passion in leadership is for off-roading, 4wd education, and
human learning and behaviour.
I am running for Director at Large because I have never encountered an organization as
valuable to the communities of British Columbia, as I have with the 4WDABC. Having worked
closely with the Association over the past 10 years; it is remarkable how powerful the
Association is in its’ advocacy, and probably most importantly is the strength of the friendships
that form amongst the members and volunteers. Truly this organization has some of the
kindest, bravest and driven volunteers and members that I have ever seen. Individuals,
including you reading this, are so incredibly valuable to the communities you are a part of.
Whether in small or big steps, you are sharing your tools or sandwich during a roadside
repair, educating and improving outdoor recreation techniques or maybe just sharing a laugh
during a meetup or a smile and wave when you see someone else with that bold red member
sticker on their back window.
Within the 4WDABC membership is a place where many can feel a sense of belonging,
or even a yearning for adventure and find a convoy of others to take part in that. Ultimately this
is a community I see myself being a member of for a very long time.
As a Director, I want to help provide the resources for you to find your place within this
community for a very long time to come.
With my own small and big steps, I want to make sure this Association never loses its
heart and soul. I want to make sure that people who are driven to volunteer or see change
always find that motivation to keep moving forward with their ideas. I want to make sure you
always look towards the 4WDABC as being a positive asset for whichever community you call
home.
I can promise you that I will never lose my heart and soul, and I will always lead with a
strong moral compass with a playful outlook towards life. You might even find me trailside
cooking up steak and biscuits (don’t be afraid to ask for a bite)!
With all that said, if you’re still trying to figure out who I am and need some more street
cred… I have a rich history with the 4WDABC. In 2011 I joined as a member looking for
directions to “Hale Creek” in my stock Ford Explorer. In 2015 I joined the 4WDABC’s Board of
Directors and sat as Secretary for 7 years, in 2018 I was part of the newly formed Wheely
Wisely management team and help put the foundation together for our very successful Driver
Training Program, and later that same year attended/hosted our first ever Train the Trainer
event.
I have a Bachelor’s degree from Harvard in Psychology, I am one of four female I4WDTA
certified Off-Road Training Instructors in the world, I have my PAL, my class 1, Wilderness First
Aid Responder, Teamsters Local 155 Transport Captain and Teamsters Canada Youth
Committee member and in 2014 I was voted “Slowest Eating Redneck” by a comedy group I
performed with regularly. And to my absolute dismay, after 13 years of owning hip waders, I
am yet to get out steelhead fishing.
Please consider a vote for Rachelle at the 2025 AGM
