FRASER VALLEY – Essentials of Off-Road Recovery – Nov.27/2022
November 27 @ 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM PST$125.00
THIS EVENT TAKES PLACE NEAR STAVE LAKE, BC (subject to change).
The focus of the second course of this series, “Essentials of Off-Road Recovery,” is to take you through the very basics and help make you comfortable recovering your off-road vehicle from a variety of common “stuck” situations.
Course topics include equipment selection and care, assessing a “stuck” while looking at it in a 360-degree view, and hands-on experience in a variety of simple recovery scenarios.
In this day-long class, you will safely learn with our trained instructors in a controlled real-world environment. On-trail skills you’ll learn include how to choose the proper recovery method and gear for a given situation, and how to use traction boards, recovery straps, Hi-Lift jack, and a winch. Our classes are small, allowing you to interact with the other students and share your experiences while learning from each other, and you will be encouraged to practice each of your new skills in our Hands-On training style.
By the end of the course, you will gain confidence in yourself and a better understanding of your vehicle and recovery options, allowing you to head out on your adventures and be safer.
BE SURE TO BRING:
- Bug spray
- Clothing for outdoor conditions (warm, rain-proof coat and pants; hiking or mud boots as appropriate to the weather)
- Work gloves
- Lunch / Snacks / Non-alcoholic Beverages
- Pen & Paper
No additional equipment is required, although we strongly recommend you have a full-size spare. Part of the day will be learning about the types of tools available, to help you with your own purchasing decisions. You’re welcome to bring and ask questions about any other equipment you already own, particularly recovery straps/ropes and winches.
Cost of this event is $125 for current 4WDABC individual members. Each person attending will require their own ticket. This will be a very busy and action-packed day, so please, no children or pets.
